Hello everyone! From countless of Instagram photos to positive Yelp reviews… today, I’m going to talk about some of the most trendiest restaurants in California! I was born and raised in California so I’m very familiar with all of these restaurants. Here’s a list of 10 places that I definitely recommend!
Recently this year, Shake Shack, the East Coast’s answer to In-N-Out Burger, opened its first California location on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. It started out as a food cart inside Madison Square Park in 2004, and its popularity steadily grew. It eventually moved to a stand within the park, expanding its menu from New York-style hotdogs hamburgers, fries and milkshakes. The company prides itself and emphasizes its use of all-natural 100% angus beef. Since its founding it has been one of the fastest-growing food chains eventually growing in a number of international cities including Seoul, Tokyo, London, Cardiff, Istanbul, Moscow, Muscat, Beirut, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait City, Riyadh, Manama and Jeddah.
Din Tai Fung
Originally founded as a cooking oil retail business in 1958, Din Tai Fung was reborn as a steamed dumpling and noodle restaurant in 1972. Today, Din Tai Fung has branches in Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Thailand. Din Tai Fung gives people throughout the world the opportunity to experience a classic “taste of Taiwan.” In California, located in the South Coast Plaza mall, the restaurant constantly grabs people’s attention due to its modern Shanghai-style of soup dumplings & noodles.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers that was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Raising Cane’s offers a limited menu consisting of four main combos: “The Box Combo,” “The 3-Finger Combo,” “The Caniac Combo” and “The Sandwich Combo.” It also includes a Kid’s Meal and several sizes of bulk chicken items called Tailgates. This place is also known for its special signature sauce that is provided with all chicken finger meals.
The Halal Guys
From humble beginnings as a New York City hot dog cart to a renowned international restaurant chain, The Halal Guys is a restaurant that offering gyros, chicken & rice platters & other Middle Eastern fare. The New York City’s famed food cart makes its way to the West Coast after 25 years and it’s more popular than ever. The famous white and red sauces is also a signature of The Halal Guys and critics had many positive reviews of this place.
Gen Korean BBQ
Gen Korean BBQ is an all you can eat restaurant that offers all sorts of Korean food! Their menu includes tofu soup, beef, pork, steak, shrimp, vegetables, etc. Overall, this restaurant provides a big variety of food that will leave you feeling satisfied!
The Latin American, Asian Fusion, Mexican restaurant recently opened during the summer of 2016 and gained lots of attention ever since. Located in Fountain Valley, the unique menu includes all sorts of tacos, fries, corn, and bowls. This place interprets many types of styles when it comes to their food.
Bruxie is a new take on The Sandwich, using a creative version of an authentic Belgian Waffle as the bread. The waffle is light, airy, crispy, and not sweet. Bruxie Waffles are paired with quality seasonal ingredients, offering both Savory choices like Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Prosciutto & Gruyere, and Hot Pastrami, as well as a variety of Sweet options such as the Seasonal Creme Brulee, Nutella & Banana and S’Mores. It’s great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, mid-day snack as well as dessert or a late night treat.
The Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in Huntington Beach offers a menu full of traditional eastern foods, including sushi as well as seafood dishes, vegetarian meals, specialty rolls and much more. Project Poke is an Asian fusion restaurant that’s located in Fountain Valley. The menu is pretty straight forward. The bowls are customizable with whatever fish and toppings you want. All the toppings are standard but they have a lot of fried things such as fried wonton, so it’s unique and the texture is nice. Prices are standard, since it’s $9-12 for a bowl depending on size and how much fish you want. The poke burritos are about $8-10 each. They also have crispy spam musubi for around $3. Also they have various milk teas for everyone to try.
This new trendy spot is known for its handcrafted churros, ice cream, and drinks. From cookies and cream and matcha green tea to passion fruit green tea and milk tea, this place provides a variety of all sorts of sweetness for people have a soft spot for desserts and drinks.
